Installation Instructions: 18SP636 – Series 60 Main Bearings & Thrust Washers

Kit Descriptions

A new service assembly for the main bearing kit (P/N: 23535280) is now available. This kit has all the necessary components required to replace the lower end bearings in an engine with the original crankshaft. This assembly can be used on all EGR model engines regardless of thrust bearing design.

Kit Contents

The main bearing kit (P/N: 23535280) contains all the main bearing and thrust bearings for the Series 60 engine.

For cylinder blocks that have machined notches in the main bearing cap, use parts listed in Table 1. See Example A in Figure 1 for an end view of a main bearing cap with machined notches.

For cylinder blocks that do not have machined notches in the main bearing cap, use parts listed in Table 2. See Example B in Figure 1 for an end view of a main bearing cap without machined notches.

Jimmy Finch has over 33 years of experience in Diesel Engine Sales, Service and Repair. His experience started early in life at Texas Fuel Injection Service (an early acquisition of M&D) as a job with a means to an end. Somewhere in that 33 years this job turned into a fulfilling career. He started in the injector clean up department and has held practically every position leading up to his current role as Branch Manager of the Dallas, Texas location.

In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys spending time with his wife of 24 years, Priscilla. They are currently getting ready to make their way into the empty-nesters stage of life. He also enjoys the occasional hunting trip with friends and family and chasing down potential customers by the names off their trucks.
