18SP569* –Series 60® Cylinder/Piston Kit Information

Introduction
This is one of four cylinder kits or four piston kits with forged, articulated steel pistons. Kit components are listed in Table 1 on the PDF.

Different Piston Pins
These cylinder kits contain one of the following piston pins:

  • P/N 23525168 – This pin has an I.D. of 22 mm (0.866 in.). See Table 1 and
    Figure 1.
  • P/N 23521649 – This pin has an I.D. of 26 mm (1.02 in.). See Table 1 and
    Figure 1.

Piston pin P/N 23525168 is slightly heavier than pin P/N 23521649. Because of their weight difference, these piston pins (and the cylinder kits or piston kits they are used in) must not be mixed in an engine. Mixing different pins in the same engine may result in an unbalanced condition that may reveal itself in excessive vibration when the engine is running.

Notice:
Failure to install the same piston pins in an engine may result in an unbalance condition indicated by severe vibration. Excessive vibration will have a detrimental effect on engine life. To avoid this situation, always check the part number on the end of the existing piston pin or measure the piston pin I.D. before installing the new pin.

Note:
Piston pin P/N 23525168 is also included in piston kits P/N R23530666 and R23530668 and is available separately. Piston pin P/N 23521649 is also included in piston kits P/N E23532882 and E23532884 and is available separately.

Cylinder Kit Installation
Refer to the current Series 60 Service Manual, 6SE483 0204, when installing cylinder kits in the engine.
