Detroit Diesel Series 60 Service Information
Introduction
The cylinder liner protrusion specification has been updated in the Series 60 Service Manual.
Details & Reason
It has been validated that the former specification of 0.000-0.076 mm (0.000-003 in.) can be increased while still maintaining sufficient clamp load on the head gasket, also considering the recent increase in the compression ring wire diameter and head bolt torque specification. The new liner protrusion specification is -0.0127-0.0762 mm (-0.0005-0.003 in.) listed in Table 1.
Engine Part (Standard Size, New) | Minimum | Maximum | Limits |
---|---|---|---|
Height of Flange Above Block | -0.0127 mm (-0.0005 in.) | 0.0762 mm (0.003 in.) | – |
